WARNING! Lucidcharts is a SCAM! As a student I decided to use their “Fee 7 day trial” for a project. Checking my e-mail a couple of days later there is one titled “your plan as changed”, and they had decided to put me on an >AU$500 plan due in only a few days!! I NEVER signed up for that! If I had not checked my e-mail my bank account would have nearly been wiped out. I immediately cancelled this “plan” and “fee trial” (my ass!) and sent an e-mail demanding them to desist. Hopefully I will escape them stealing from me as has clearly happened to others here, but I’m sickened to think such a bunch of crooks now have my bank details. Should have googled it all before 🙁 Stay safe out there guys, there are scammers like this everywhere.

Lucidchart Pricing plans are misleading and represent false advertising. I tried to cancel my enterprise plan for two team members, but there is no cancellation button. I played around with any possibility of cancellation, but instead, I accidentally chose to make the number of team members automatically. My card was charged immediately AUD 320(for a maximum of 12 team members). I contacted support two minutes after this happened and am still awaiting a reply. They must be ashamed of using this technique and simply desperate since they started having lots of competition. Please use their free option only.

Lucid chart is a Big Scam!!! Please avoid them. 1 year payment ($121) was taken from my bank account even before the end of the free trial period. Not even a notice or monthly payment But a whole year deduction. This is so sad! I tried to cancel several time but the cancel trial button was never there. This is so disappointing. I think the company should be closed down —– all they do is to scam people of their hard earned money.

Well the website works well but it seems ridiculous to me that you have to pay to use more objects in an online flow chart. Money hungry website. Do not recommend. Many other free alternatives out there, don’t waste your time or money with this website

Like everyone else said. Charged me for 5 months. Disgusting company to deal with. Customer support sent auto responses each time. Said there was no complaints escalation. Absolute rogues. Avoid at all costs.

This company almost universally operates off of bad faith. They over billed us for 2 years, and always said nothing could be done. We were stuck using them due to a lot of material we had, but finally, this year took the effort to move everything out (which they make very hard), and cancelled 45 days before our renewal. (They offer no way to cancel online , which is actually illegal in many states now – you have to talk to them). So we wrote them about our cancellation, and got back a snarky response a week later from our ‘sales rep’, but he did confirm we cancelled. A week before the renewal all our employees started getting spammed by then about our ‘renewal’. I wrote the sales person spamming us to make it very clear we cancelled – and they confirmed this again. Fast forward a week they renew our subscription for $9950 and bill an old credit card. (Yeah – they keep old cards, again, another at best immoral activity, but actually illegal in many states) Trying to contact them is now impossible. I wrote a letter to both sales agents, as well as their support. Nothing in a week to resolve the issue. I tried calling their billing number and it goes to a voicemail box that no one responds to. Given I have all the emails as proof of cancellation I’m starting a chargeback contesting the charge with VISA as fraudulent, filing a complaint with the FTC, and issuing a complaint with consumer affairs in both Utah (where they are based), and in Illinois where the transaction occurred. If they fight the chargeback we have already passed on all our documentation to our law firm. We have all intentions of filing suit for relief pending the chargeback. Please do not involve yourself with this company. They are disingenuous at best, and realistically seem to be running a billing scam. If you really need a crappy charting program (and honestly, Lucid is really a poor excuse for software), go to MIRO or Visio from Microsoft. Hell, draw.io has almost all the same features and its entirely free. NEVER give these people any credit card number. Its a kin to just writing bank account number on the side of your car.

Googled “Lucid chart Scam billing” after seeing 29 monthly charges of $10.6. Lucid customer service saying only one month will be refunded. Never used and now see similar victims of their predatory billing on legitimate credit cards here. Will also be pursuing any legal action!

This company is an absolute scam. I realised today after reviewing debit charges on my bank account that I had been receiving charged for two years. I genuinely have no idea what this company is and do not recall signing up. Through PayPal, I received the contact information to challenge the payment. Despite customer service knowing I was unable to access my account (had no idea how I had even created an account with them), or knowing what email was affiliated with my account – they have refused to offer any refund. Both charges were done in August 2021 and 2022. Extremely poor form and an absolute scam.

I spend 80% of my time in Lucidchart fighting against their awful twitchy UI. It’s a slog… I hate every second of it. It insists on drawing arrows when I want to move objects. When I want to draw arrows, it moves something instead. I’m convinced this product is designed by misanthropes intent on making their users suffer. It’s like Atlassian’s crap tools… the actual users don’t choose or pay for this stuff, so who cares if they’re slowly dying inside?

I wanted to try Lucidchart during the proposed 7 day trial period (starts from 26 April 2022). The modalities of use and access after the activation of the trial period are very unclear and even deceptive since 109.1€ was already deducted from my VISA on 26/4. So I have not even been able to ‘enjoy’ my trial period. The billing starts from 26/4/2022 to 26/4/2023. THEY ARE MAKING ME PAY FOR A FREE TRIAL. I was hoping to try Lucid thoroughly during these 7 days and request a subscription through my employer. This would also allow me to promote the use of LUCID within my company. Because the first acquaintance with the programm was actually positive. Because of this automatic charge for a year’s subscription during the trial period, I have cancelled my subscription and demand a refund of €109.1 to my visa account. They have not responded to my letter and have not refunded. It is a fraud, theft and deception. Shameful.

Have taken £100 from my account. My bank text to flag this fraudulent activity so I could block the payment but my card is now blocked until the payment is cancelled. Before anyone questions if I have forgotten to cancel… no I haven’t. All the evidence to show that I am on the free plan and no receipt for this supposed transaction.

Muy mala experiencia. Para el departamento de Soporte Técnico creo que la calificación de 1 estrella le queda grande. Resumen de la Experiencia: Contacté con ellos simplemente por un problema de almacenamiento, el servicio mostraba el uso completo del almacenamiento, lo cual me imposibilitaba realizar mas tareas (añadir, borrar, etc). Hice lo que exactamente sugiere la documentación oficial, borrar un trabajo y esperar 7 días para que desaparezca de la papelera, y poder nuevamente a tener almacenamiento libre. Pasaron los 7 días y perdí el documento y perdí el tiempo, y lo seguiré perdiendo si continuo utilizando esta herramienta.

Not bad for a quick and dirty PNG. Does not play well with other products. I needed this for Azure schematics, and they have not upgraded their shapes to the current Microsoft svg collection yet. I really cannot wait. Interface takes a little bit of getting used to, I have to google just about every function. It is very good at all the PowerPoint things such as spacing and snapping, it is not good at snapping traces and lines. Exporting to Visio and re-importing strips all my labels. Ability to import svg’s is good. And it is reasonably good at smart lines, not autorouting though. Electronic Engineers, this may not be your product. Ditto for UML, DBA’s and other Uber users. So really for the business user that just needs it once, because it is hard to back up offsite, and hard to share, hard to reuse. Which means anything you do, somebody else has to re-do in the future. Mind how you go.

The subscription model of this site is almost a scam. It’s almost impossible to find the cancel subscription button, and when you accidentally click “One Click Subscription” you will be immediately charged the full yearly amount of a subscription. No confirmation, no question whether you want a yearly or monthly subscription, nothing. On top of that, there’s no obvious way to ask for a refund. Just sent a ticket to the billing department, if that won’t work then I’ll escalate this to PayPal What a joke…

AVOID AVOID AVOID. 2 years ago I applied for a free account which offers free everything within limitations, but you had to add a payment method. I thought this is fine because I only wanted to test it. I added my wifes paypal account and tested it and realised I didn’t like it/need it. The account was in my name, but the paypal was in her name. During the next few months they sent an email to my wife saying they are upgrading my account to a professional account and would be taking a subscription even though my account still falls into the criteria of the free account. Unfortunately my wife ignored/missed this because she thought it was some form of spam. They then started taking annual subscriptions and are now avoiding communicating with us as they have charged us for a second year and don’t seem to want to pay it back. When I logged in to see what was happening, I still have a basic account and my wife does not have an account, but they are still happily taking the money. We will try to sort through Paypal, but I am not holding my breath AVOID

Charged me for a subscription using an expired card, and doubled the price while they were at it without any notification of a price increase. Edit: After contacting their customer support they did refund me the money, but this still shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Be aware that if you sign up for the free trial, they will charge you for a full year, even if you try to cancel. If you look at the reviews below, many appear to have had the same negative experience. I wish I had checked here before trying this out. Lesson learned!

The tool is quite basic, there are other players that have better tools available. Customer service is horrendous and if you do the same mistake that I did by taking the year plan you will get empty-handed when trying to get a refund. Worst SaaS platform and service I worked with. Stay away.

The product itself is great however, be careful that you don’t pay for the full version (I don’t know how it happened to me, but when I asked for a refund they granted it promptly) and make sure you remember to cancel it if you buy for 1 month or else they will keep charging you.

Stay away if you respect your privacy! It’s a nice product but when setting up a team LucidChart employees start direct contacting your team members based on their registered information. Even they start contacting the team members using LinkedIn. Such a same!

I stopped using my account back in early 2020, I just recently saw a charge of $95.40 on my card. They said that they can’t do anything about it. From what I’m learning, they automatically renew your account without your permission. I’m looking more into a class action lawsuit against Lucid Chart. There’s a community of customers who were wrong just like me. DON”T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!

Signed up for Lucidspark & Lucidchart trial. Changed details to carry on with Lucidspark with a monthly payment & stopped trial for Lucidchart. I noticed an unexplained charge on my account (quite a few weeks after I started being charged). Looks like Lucid have reactivated the Lucidchart trial & moved straight to a full annual payment in addition to monthly Lucidspark fee?!? This was not requested or authorised – so I recommend you check bank statements. I logged a ticket with Lucid & even though I received an email, support within my account shows: ‘You currently have no open tickets. To open a new ticket, visit support’. So, no idea if they have a support ticket raised or not – request bank chargeback. Update: they have additionally added a monthly charge for Lucidchart – billing systems are a mess & now double charging for same service.

Lucidchart promise 1GByte storage for the entry plan, but if you have been a paying customer for many years, with entry plan, they limit you to 100MByte. W-T-F! Inside the portal they nag you about selling a really expensive plan, and every time you try to save it is no longer usable. It is completely confusing to find or control what takes up storage, they just throw in random numbers and Megabytes here and there. The items you have on your files take up space multiple times, even if the objects are the same and link to images on Lucid charts storage server already. If you delete stuff, you will have to wait 7 days for the bin to empty! Pathetic, who has seen anything like that? Not allowing you to empty the storage bin? Lucidchart used to be very good, but now it is so slow and useless. Storage consumption bar is at 50%, still they say storage is used up every time I try to save anything. It is a scandal to be a user here. All work here may be wasted in the end. It is a total scam, stay away! Use draw.io or any other honest service instead, you are hereby warned. I am completely honest and want to warn all of you about this, I pay alot for the service, still it is useless.. very disappointed.. thank you.

Lucidchart used to be cool, now it is not anymore. They totally lost focus on how to retain customers. They used to give away 1 free template each month on the free plan, which I used for different drawings. Now all my work is gone, since I can only edit my last 3 templates. How can they suddenly remove this access for their customers? Very sad. Obviously they never heard of the term customer loyalty. For this reason, I highly recommend you to stay away from this company!!

Started the trial version, which requires credit card signup. After a few uses I determined that I did not have a use for the premium features. Forgot about signing up for premium, and texted them when they already had charged. Filled out their format, and got a refund 4 days later.

The subscription option obviously allows more access; I found the platforms straight forward & have used other LUCID products which were especially compatible with the MAC. I finished some work & knew I wouldn’t be needing LUCID for about 6 months so did not renew however money was debited from my account. I contacted their billing team & after investigation I will receive a refund. I will return to LUCID & recommend them based on my personnel experience.

Because of this automatic charge for a year’s subscription during the trial period, I have cancelled my subscription and demand a refund of €109.1 to my visa account. They have not responded to my letter and have not refunded. It is a fraud, theft and deception. Shameful.

I am trying to upgrade my account so the entire team can collaborate – errors out and nobody is replying to my inquiries. Sitting here handing them the cash and they won’t fix the problem with their billing system!

Have taken £100 from my account. My bank text to flag this fraudulent activity so I could block the payment but my card is now blocked until the payment is cancelled. Before anyone questions if I have forgotten to cancel… no I haven’t. All the evidence to show that I am on the free plan and no receipt for this supposed transaction.

Muy mala experiencia. Para el departamento de Soporte Técnico creo que la calificación de 1 estrella le queda grande. Resumen de la Experiencia: Contacté con ellos simplemente por un problema de almacenamiento, el servicio mostraba el uso completo del almacenamiento, lo cual me imposibilitaba realizar mas tareas (añadir, borrar, etc). Hice lo que exactamente sugiere la documentación oficial, borrar un trabajo y esperar 7 días para que desaparezca de la papelera, y poder nuevamente a tener almacenamiento libre. Pasaron los 7 días y perdí el documento y perdí el tiempo, y lo seguiré perdiendo si continuo utilizando esta herramienta.

Not bad for a quick and dirty PNG. Does not play well with other products. I needed this for Azure schematics, and they have not upgraded their shapes to the current Microsoft svg collection yet. I really cannot wait. Interface takes a little bit of getting used to, I have to google just about every function. It is very good at all the PowerPoint things such as spacing and snapping, it is not good at snapping traces and lines. Exporting to Visio and re-importing strips all my labels. Ability to import svg’s is good. And it is reasonably good at smart lines, not autorouting though. Electronic Engineers, this may not be your product. Ditto for UML, DBA’s and other Uber users. So really for the business user that just needs it once, because it is hard to back up offsite, and hard to share, hard to reuse. Which means anything you do, somebody else has to re-do in the future. Mind how you go.

Really helpful and good service. I accidently signed up for 1 year premium and got charged 750 DKK. I wrote to them and said it was as a mistake and i had my money back 2 days later

The subscription model of this site is almost a scam. It’s almost impossible to find the cancel subscription button, and when you accidentally click “One Click Subscription” you will be immediately charged the full yearly amount of a subscription. No confirmation, no question whether you want a yearly or monthly subscription, nothing. On top of that, there’s no obvious way to ask for a refund. Just sent a ticket to the billing department, if that won’t work then I’ll escalate this to PayPal What a joke…

AVOID AVOID AVOID. 2 years ago I applied for a free account which offers free everything within limitations, but you had to add a payment method. I thought this is fine because I only wanted to test it. I added my wifes paypal account and tested it and realised I didn’t like it/need it. The account was in my name, but the paypal was in her name. During the next few months they sent an email to my wife saying they are upgrading my account to a professional account and would be taking a subscription even though my account still falls into the criteria of the free account. Unfortunately my wife ignored/missed this because she thought it was some form of spam. They then started taking annual subscriptions and are now avoiding communicating with us as they have charged us for a second year and don’t seem to want to pay it back. When I logged in to see what was happening, I still have a basic account and my wife does not have an account, but they are still happily taking the money. We will try to sort through Paypal, but I am not holding my breath AVOID

Charged me for a subscription using an expired card, and doubled the price while they were at it without any notification of a price increase. Edit: After contacting their customer support they did refund me the money, but this still shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Be aware that if you sign up for the free trial, they will charge you for a full year, even if you try to cancel. If you look at the reviews below, many appear to have had the same negative experience. I wish I had checked here before trying this out. Lesson learned!

The tool is quite basic, there are other players that have better tools available. Customer service is horrendous and if you do the same mistake that I did by taking the year plan you will get empty-handed when trying to get a refund. Worst SaaS platform and service I worked with. Stay away.

The product itself is great however, be careful that you don’t pay for the full version (I don’t know how it happened to me, but when I asked for a refund they granted it promptly) and make sure you remember to cancel it if you buy for 1 month or else they will keep charging you.

Stay away if you respect your privacy! It’s a nice product but when setting up a team LucidChart employees start direct contacting your team members based on their registered information. Even they start contacting the team members using LinkedIn. Such a same!

I stopped using my account back in early 2020, I just recently saw a charge of $95.40 on my card. They said that they can’t do anything about it. From what I’m learning, they automatically renew your account without your permission. I’m looking more into a class action lawsuit against Lucid Chart. There’s a community of customers who were wrong just like me. DON”T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!

I didn’t like that they are using dark patterns. I tried to register, register my Paypal account. They used dark patterns twice in the first minute of usage. Smells like scams…

Signed up for Lucidspark & Lucidchart trial. Changed details to carry on with Lucidspark with a monthly payment & stopped trial for Lucidchart. I noticed an unexplained charge on my account (quite a few weeks after I started being charged). Looks like Lucid have reactivated the Lucidchart trial & moved straight to a full annual payment in addition to monthly Lucidspark fee?!? This was not requested or authorised – so I recommend you check bank statements. I logged a ticket with Lucid & even though I received an email, support within my account shows: ‘You currently have no open tickets. To open a new ticket, visit support’. So, no idea if they have a support ticket raised or not – request bank chargeback. Update: they have additionally added a monthly charge for Lucidchart – billing systems are a mess & now double charging for same service.

Lucidchart promise 1GByte storage for the entry plan, but if you have been a paying customer for many years, with entry plan, they limit you to 100MByte. W-T-F! Inside the portal they nag you about selling a really expensive plan, and every time you try to save it is no longer usable. It is completely confusing to find or control what takes up storage, they just throw in random numbers and Megabytes here and there. The items you have on your files take up space multiple times, even if the objects are the same and link to images on Lucid charts storage server already. If you delete stuff, you will have to wait 7 days for the bin to empty! Pathetic, who has seen anything like that? Not allowing you to empty the storage bin? Lucidchart used to be very good, but now it is so slow and useless. Storage consumption bar is at 50%, still they say storage is used up every time I try to save anything. It is a scandal to be a user here. All work here may be wasted in the end. It is a total scam, stay away! Use draw.io or any other honest service instead, you are hereby warned. I am completely honest and want to warn all of you about this, I pay alot for the service, still it is useless.. very disappointed.. thank you.

Lucidchart used to be cool, now it is not anymore. They totally lost focus on how to retain customers. They used to give away 1 free template each month on the free plan, which I used for different drawings. Now all my work is gone, since I can only edit my last 3 templates. How can they suddenly remove this access for their customers? Very sad. Obviously they never heard of the term customer loyalty. For this reason, I highly recommend you to stay away from this company!!

Started the trial version, which requires credit card signup. After a few uses I determined that I did not have a use for the premium features. Forgot about signing up for premium, and texted them when they already had charged. Filled out their format, and got a refund 4 days later.

The subscription option obviously allows more access; I found the platforms straight forward & have used other LUCID products which were especially compatible with the MAC. I finished some work & knew I wouldn’t be needing LUCID for about 6 months so did not renew however money was debited from my account. I contacted their billing team & after investigation I will receive a refund. I will return to LUCID & recommend them based on my personnel experience.
