Does Delta compensate for delayed luggage?

Delta offers a $50 close-in bag fee credit if your luggage is delayed more than 12 hours after your scheduled arrival. When luggage is more than 21 days late, Delta may compensate you up to $3,500 per passenger. You must file a Baggage Service Claim within 21 days of the time you report your luggage missing or an exception is made with documented extenuating circumstances. Delta will compensate your reasonable expenses with proof of purchase such as receipts.
