- How much will American Airlines reimburse for delayed luggage?
American Airlines will reimburse up to $3500 for delayed, damaged, or lost luggage. The amount will be determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the value of the lost items. Additional compensation may be available for exceptional circumstances within 8 weeks of the delayed baggage claim. Passengers are urged to submit a claim within 21 days for any eligible items.
