American Airlines offers credits for canceled flights that are sometimes applied automatically to your account. To use the credit, you'll need to follow a few steps. First, log in to your American Airlines account. Then select “My Trips” and click on the canceled flight for which you'd like to use the credit. Select “Request a Refund” to enter your information and get your credit. The credit can be used on future flights, seat selection fees, and fees for changing or canceling a flight. You can also use the credit toward puchases made on AA.com or at an American Airlines ticketing office or kiosk.
