- How windy is it to cancel flights?
In general, flights are canceled when wind speeds become too dangerous for the aircraft to take off or land. Windy weather changes throughout the day and is often determined by a variety of climatic factors. A general guideline is that if the wind speed is greater than 30 knots (15 m/s), it might be too unsafe for planes to land or take off.
