- What weather will cancel a flight?
A flight may be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions such as heavy snowstorms or tropical storms. Strong winds and lightning can also be a factor, as well as low visibility caused by fog or heavy rain. In cases of high temperature, aircraft may not be able to take off, since hot air is less dense and provides less lift. Pilots may also decide to cancel a flight if the weather forecast is unpredictable and may be hazardous for the aircraft.
