Why is American canceling so many flights?

American Airlines is cancelling more flights due to a variety of factors, such as insufficient demand from customers, reduced number of airplanes, and implications from the Covid-19 pandemic. Less flights means fewer employees, higher costs per flight and less revenue. Additionally, American Airlines is facing competition from private companies who are better able to adjust to changing demand. All of which has caused American Airlines to make the difficult decision to cancel more flights.
