- When do Airlines cancel Flights?
Airlines may cancel flights due to mechanical issues, weather conditions, insufficient booking, overbooking and other reasons. Airlines usually communicate cancellations quickly to their customers and offer alternative arrangements where possible. In cases of extreme weather, air traffic control restrictions, military activity and other events beyond the airlines' control, the airline may be required to cancel flights.
