- What happens when Delta cancels your flight?
When Delta cancels your flight, the airline is obligated to offer you alternate transportation – either on the same day or shortly thereafter. If you decide to take their offer, they'll typically reimburse you for any additional expenses. In some cases, they'll also offer compensation in the form of vouchers, miles, or other perks. In more severe cases, where you're stranded far from home, Delta may even provide a refund for the full cost of the flight.
