Yes, American Airlines is cancelling flights. The airline has axed a number of routes due to declining travel demand caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Some routes may be paused and then restarted when travel increases. Along with flight cancellations, American is also reducing the size of some aircraft on certain routes, such as downgrading from a wide-body jet to a narrow-body jet, resulting in fewer available in-flight seats.
