- Will Rain Cancel a Flight?
Rain alone is usually not enough to cancel a flight. However, if it’s pouring heavily or there’s thunder and lightning, air traffic controllers may not let the plane take off for safety reasons. Heavy snow, strong winds, and ice also could make flying dangerous, so some flights may be delayed, rerouted, or cancelled in those conditions.
